Re Ann’s comments (Pluckyfilly) on my previous upload, just to clarify things, my surname's Bottomley, not Batt – or Batty! When I first joined EPZ the first thing that came to mind for a user name was Trev B, but this was already used, so it became Trev B at Wakefield Camera Club. As this was rather long, I compressed it down to TrevBatWCC (you'll note there is only one letter 't' in the middle, not two).
Anyway, this will probably bomb, but it’s for CarolG! I mentioned that I’d spotted a shield bug on Saturday, and had I not seen her images, I would never have guessed what it was. It stayed put on the leaf it was on whilst I got my camera out, but not having a macro lens, and my 70-300 lens only focussing to about 1 metre, couldn't get close enough for it fill the frame, as it was only about 1 cm in length. You’ve certainly no competition here, Carol! ![]()

Glad we've cleared your name up!! Shield bugs are great little critters we get them from time to time often on the virginia creeper. I've seen some with more of the dark patch, a different variety I suppose. Super close up of this little beastie Trev.

I saw a shield bug in my conservatory yesterday but didnt get a pic what sort of photographer am I
at least you got a shot Trev and a good one at that, he looks quite a shiny critter mine was lesser and more on the dull side![]()
I like V2 with it's leg, or is it antenna, in the air Mr Bottomley... Actually Trev, you don't need to fill the frame, I think it's good to see insects etc in their natural surroundings. Happy Easter.
