...my choice for a sunrise that morning, and some colour did show but snow was in the air and the clouds were pouring down across Loch Torridon towards Shieldaig on the other side, below the round mountain.

I'm imagining the house looking out over the water, observing everything.
Just that hint of red adds so much, it lifts the spirits.

Beautifully caught mood in this Dougie. I could just step inside the image and sit there watching the changing conditions.

Going through the gallery thumbnails this one jumped out at me...why am I not suprised its one of yours....top class image Dougie - the light, the composition - its there in spades

13 Nov 2012 - 10:27 AM

...just one small point on my 2nd look - the edge of the cottage is a wee bit tight in the frame but that is all. Wink

Nicely composed with some good sky colour. I like the way the tree on the left nicely balances the composition.

So much has already been said, Dougie, but for me the outstanding feature here is the light, and that, I guess, is what it's all about, and here, set in a beautifully crafted composition.

That little bit of colour in the reflection adds to the early morning atmosphere. The red roof of the croft house is perfect amongst the greys.

A nice few spots of colour from the sky, reflection and the roof of the house too. I also like that bit of water movement down the centre. Moira

I can see that a lot of thought went into the composition Dougie and you have succeeded in arranging the elements perfectly. The light is wonderful.
