I have been photographing the annual Lavender bloom at this location for 3 years now so this year wanted to do something different if I could. This image shows the flower in all its glory but also the root system from which it grows.

Excellent sharp detail from front to back Derek, and the sky couldn't be better.

A rose never looked so beautiful Dave. Sincere thanks for your UA mate
Many thaks for the HC Pete. A lovely gift thats put a smile on my face.
Brilliantcomposition preserving the leading lines so effective with cultivated fields of lavender but with the added interest of the gnarly roots. Makes it stand out from other lavender shots, as does the dramatic sky!
I just wonder if lightening the field area a little bit more would make the FG have even more impact? It seems just a little dark for me, although that could be the crappy monitor I'm using right now! ![]()

Well deserved HC Derek. Does need to be viewed large as others have said for the Wow factor
