Afternoon all. A set of shots of the Shorow Bell Tower in the Rinnoji Temple in Nikko. I can find little information on the bell tower except to say that is is struck for the time, and also on New Year's Eve. The bell tower has 12 supporting pillars, with 3 supporting each corner of the structure. The pillar of wood used for striking the bell is huge and very heavy. It is also supported by chains as well as the rope. I probably should have used V2 as the lead, however it is not too sharp. I have simply included V3 to show some of the detail around the pillars. I will give some more information regarding Rinnoji Temple when I get around to processing some of the shots. Thanks for C&Cs on previous upload. Will catch up later.

Amazing Moira, brilliant set to go with your narrative. I should imagine that it makes quite a loud dong!

What a lovely decorative bell tower, and a great set, capturing the effort that man seems to putting into ringing the bell! Wink I rather like V3 as my fave Smile

v2 is more dynamic but v3 has a lovely balance to it. Certainly rings my bell.

They didn't stint on timbers when constructing that bell tower, Moira, nor can the bell be said to be understatedWinkWink.
Fine set and good to see the effort needed to make it toll.
Ronnie.

That's a bell ringer with strength without doubt Moira. No little tinkly bells here.
