Quite a clear capture of the day hunter.The plumage appears to be uniformly light coffee colour on the underside throughout,when I thought a buff white with a yellowish tinge was the norm?

This was took in the evening light but this partucular bird is a lot darker, he tends to stay at the one end of the field not venturing over to the other side probably his patch, some of the other images I have are of different birds and they seem a lot lighter in colour some more whiter but the difference light does make a huge difference in their colouring, one I will post another time looks pure white compared to this one, their has been 22 owls sighted where I go so their will be differences in their colours

They are Brian here for the winter and they will probably go up North in March to breed, it has been a good year for shorties they are being sighted in loads of places better than last years numbers
