I got this shot earlier this year and had a few goes at processing it in Lightroom 2 and CS4.

As I am in the early stages of learning I get very different results each time.

Any thoughts / sugestions on this result ?

It's as good as it can get. Nice bright lighting, great detail and great expression. High quality, natural image. Cheers

Thanks all, a bit a reassurance is probably all I needed.

Wheelie, I hadent even noticed the green, well spotted.
As you say, very subtle but very effective.
Thanks again all

A very good shot indeed with a nice pose and good eye contact. I have offered a mod that basically cleans the image up a bit. First I cropped to try and place the head closer to the upper left third. Then I cloned out the fly, grass and a few blemishes at the top. Like Wheeliebug I desaturated the neck a little.
I hope this meets with your approval.
Phil

Rather like what you have done as it stands. Excellent depth of field, highlights well handled with detail in them and the flies are natural. I've been quite close to semi wild deer often and flies go with the territory in summer.

Thanks Philo, your mod does clean up the photo but as Paul says
either way works, clean or natural.
Thanks all.

Wonderful image in the first instance the mods do give something different too, beautiful detail around the eye captured so well Colin
