The sunrise was weak but as I hung about these clouds came over adding interest and a nice reflection. I whiled away the time watching the wildlife through binoculars while the scene developed.

The brightness on the horizon has allowed the tree clump and it's reflection to stand out as a very distinct focal point in this attractive cool scene, Alan.
I note you are very fond of the portrait format for your landscapes, and it does seem to serve you well.

Lovely early morning blue tones with the reeds pointing the way down to the clump of trees on the horizon, set off nicely with that low lying mist Smile

Lovely image Al, great composition with the "arrowhead" shape of the reeds pointing you into the scene.

I think this works superbly Alan. The cloud and their reflection and the reeds all add interest. The composition is spot on leading the eye from the reeds through to that small group of distant caledonian pine trees. Love the gunmetal blue colour as well.
Got to add my badge to the collection.
Derek

the subdued light add an eerie presence to this well composed image. the grassy foreground contrasts well with the fog line.
