Thankyou to everyone who voted and commented on yesterday's Apollo, and especially to Stace and Tomcat for the UA's, very much appreciated guys.
Yesterday's trip to Prees Heath with Ray Seagrove was one of the best days butterflying so far this year. We saw probably 500-600 Silver Studded Blues including many mating pairs that ran into double figures. This pair (male on top) were my favourites because they chose to mate on the Bell Heather. Aswell as the Silver Studded Blues we also saw Meadow Browns, Ringlets, Small Heaths, Burnet Moths, and the best Small Tortoiseshell i have ever seen.
