Different theme for me..just a straight shot of my Father.
Yey! Will say it again a shot may not be popular with the masses or click cowboys but if it's quality then EPZ will award, that is constant and faithful on this site. Thanks Pete .
wonderful portrait, si, and all the more meaningful 'cause it's your dad. =)
Thanks for the UA as well Carm! X
it may be a different theme...it may be a straight shot......but it's a wonderfully crafted portrait
Works very well indeed, Si. I guess the choice of bg says something about your father too? A man fond of books and reading?
I do feel that this could be even better without the 'dead' area of the bookshelf end on the rhs. Re-position slightly so that the line of books extends the whole way across the frame? But I know you are more than pleased with it as it is, and so you should be.
Well seen Malcolm and some constructive remarks.
Congrat's Si, this is a truly wonderful portrait of your Father, beautifully lit and processed! Has he seen it yet?
Hi Sez, yep my Dad likes it, and has always taken pictures himself has used all the formats, medium, large format. Though he is not fond of HDR, 'a gimmick' he says...he like natural looking shots.
A wonderful natural portrait of your father. Makes me sad that I don't have one this good of my father. This is one to treasure. Very deserving of the awards...........Sandy
A really lovely portrait Si, what a great idea to take one of your Father. And what a great Head of Hair he has
A wonderful portrait Si - you've done this so well. Very deserving of the EC!!
He looks like a veteren film star. Very handsome.
What a gorgeous portrait. You've done him proud.
very good. congrats on the EC and user award.lesley
This is beuatifully lit Si,subtle but very effective.
An extra big sticker for you too I see, well done !
Great !.....reminds me a little of Old Master paintings, where clues to the sitters life interests are scattered..... the library behind tells something of his story perhaps?
Quality study and trademark light Si.
Im finding that white light dripping from his cheek rhs , distracting though and spoils the natural curvature of the portrait a little to much to elevate it to award status.
I'm sure he must be thrilled with this capture - Helen
The books round the portrait off for me Si, excellent work and deserves the EC. Congratulations.
SUPERB. Congratulations. *****
I love the processing Simon, nice and natural. Very well deserved EC,
back for another look. he really does look like a movie star. =)
What a wonderful portrait Simon, and one which must have such emotional attachment too. Superb.
Congratulations on Pete's recognition.
excellent male portrait - character well recorded. good lighting and facial detail.
Such a strong portrait. I like the books in the bg too
