A view across the bay towards the Marina Square business district, and to the right, one half of the remarkable Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The horizontal structure on top of the hotel has been designed to resemble a cargo ship - very apt considering the fact that Singapore's is the busiest container port in the world.

Nella and Rob, Thank you both for your kind comments.

Quote: Futuristic, or is it on another planet

I had reason on more than one occasion while wandering around this remarkable city to ask myself the same question, Nella. Smile

Quote: this isn't how I've ever imagined it to look!!

This face of Singapore is relatively new, Rob, with skyscrapers sprouting up in all directions. But there's still a great deal of the old Singapore still to be seen...Chinatown, remnants of the old British colonial architecture, Sikh, Chinese and Hindu temples...it's a fascinating place.

I envy you, Les. If I'd had time I would have loved to make it to the top. You'll get some cracking views from there.

When I first saw this I wondered if it was the fantastic waterfall show that is held in Singapore and that I was lucky enough to watch a few years ago. This isn't that show but you've taken a really great photo of a fabulous place, well done!

Wonderful image, clearly your processing technique suits this cityscape perfectly. Also, your composition is very clear and thus easy on the eye.

A beautiful image that documents the beauty of the architecture in Singapore. If I had one grumble, it would be that the hotel has been cut in two. I'm sure you have others with it as the main focal point though Wink

It seems this city is changing and renewing on a daily basis, ever larger and higher. Great light here lift the building work from the mundane to the sci-fi image of a future world.

I agree, Dave. It niggled me, but I just couldn't get the composition arranged in a way that would allow a full view of the hotel.

Love the reflection from the hotel on the right, and of course, those neon pink lights in the waterfall.

Outstanding use of light and colour!

Well done!
