A six spot burnet moth I spotted resting on a pink flower which I think is Red Clover at Prestbury Hill nature reserve near Cheltenham back in June. I would be grateful if anyone on here could id the flower. Apologies to all for the lack of c&c's lately I've been very busy with work lately, I hope to have time to catch up with what I've missed over the next few days, Ed

Well captured image, Ed: I thought the flower looked a bit like clover, but knowing me, I'm probably wrong.

Can't think what this pretty wildflower is, Ed, sorry. Think I'm letting the side down!! Exquisite image, the details and colours being simply stunning.

Good call Ronnie, I've checked the Mitchell Beazley wildflower book again and it looks as though it may be Red Clover

More good work Ed and my first though was clover for the flower.
Joan. Just noticed your remark so feel quite pleased with myself. J.

I would say that this is definitely clover, Ed, and what a beautiful flower for the moth to land on and pose for you. Carol

Perfect capture, I never realised how 'furry' these buterflies and moths actually are.

You've captured the details brilliantly - the tiny petals on the clover are wonderful! Smile

Brilliant captured, Ed, (as always) My first thought was that it was a Darth Vadar moth.
