Sker ve certainly describes his skin condition............... Although Lizard thingy is a very good English translation, particularly since the only time we are likely to come across one of these is Courtesy of our South African friends, in a zoo or on our travels. I like his environment.

Pronunciation is as you see it only with a warm southern drawl.
Skurf is mangy, scruffy and Jan is simply John. Scruffy little John.
