Like the good light and details in this Dougie, a good sky to balance too

There's a great sense of recession in this, from the accessible foreground to the cold remote peaks. That sort of feeling is something that I normally get from portrait format images, it doesn't often work as well as this in landscape for me.

I was going to use the word 'classic' but I see you got there first.
A fine mountainscape that somehow conveys the sense of approaching winter. The curving water's edge ensures that we look across at the entire ridge rather than just the detail.

Bill

Now, this is one Loch and situation up north I would love to visit, Dougie: one of the earliest PC's I ever received from a relative was a scene looking over to Slioch, but I have never managed to get there.
But I can enjoy the view again in this fine landscape of your's.
Ronnie.

You're very lucky with that sky Dougie and combined with that autumn colours made a wonderful landscape image.

Fabulous sky Dougie - but the ripples on the loch make it look a wee bit chilly up there! Love the composition and details.

this is beautiful Dougie and would adorn any wall, it certainly ticks all the boxes keeping the rule of thirds and even the sky has been kind for you on this day, the composition is superb. I love itGrin
