I went out into my garden with my camera to look for some little insects and animals ect and came across this snail trying to get out of the pond.
I really like this image. You've managed to capture the snail brilliantly, with lots of lovely details on it's shell. I also like the way you've placed it off center and managed to get some rounded stones in too!

Very fine shot Oli.
I did wonder at first whether this would benefit from a closer crop on the snail. Exposure on this beast ( and since it is the name of your shot ) is very good and you would have given him/her more prominence. However I now feel that the shot is best left alone. It places the snail well and overall makes a fine composition.
Thanks for the note on my PF. I will do my best to help you in the future via the PM route when you become a full member.
I love the details on the shell too, and like the inclusion of those wet stones
BTW - check here for the next Junior Competition
