This image was captured in order to evoke a feeling. That feeling might be, loneliness, isolation, solitude, grief, pain or uncertainty, feelings that we can all associate with. "However how many of us actually portray those feelings in a positive light?"

On a more upbeat note I must take this opportunity to thank all of you for your most gracious comments, and welcoming words, following my earlier than planned upload. The words which were written meant so very much, and not only did they provide me with much comfort, but also the determination to move forward with new hopes and aspirations. A journey that may take sometime to achieve, but hey there's no rush...

Regards Nathan SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Solitude... and wet, Nathan. Shutter speed is perfect for the 'stair rods', and a good composition. The light shines well on the bench seat and drips.

Your shot encapsulates summer 2012 perfectly: rain, rain and more rain.
You have captured the desolation of the scene so well along with that rain streaking down.
The B and W presentation somehow echoes the mood engendered by the on-going conditions.
Good to see you againSmileSmile

For me what jumps out is the contrast between the movement of the rain (very well captured, shutter speed spot on) and the sparkling stillness of the water drops, suspended, about to drip and disappear forever.
There's a story in that too.

Recently a daughter sent a message that she was exhausted from work, etc. and would not do her usual run that day--this followed by a "sad face"---- My return to her was to change that sad face to a SMART FACE--- the relevance here is this--- SMART people don't choose to sit on a sopping wet bench in pouring rain--- SMART choices made here!

Another point of view i guess.

It isn't always easy this thing called life.
Plans don't always work out the way they're supposed to and misfortune sometimes clouds the horizon.
But.. no matter how lonely the morning sun becomes
We always have to remember that it is up to us
We are the ones that have to push the clouds away
