This image was captured on Saturday whilst visiting Leeds Castle, a frequent port of call for me, as it a rather safe environment in which to capture as many images as I want. Furthermore there's a 'Dizzy' Bus which can take me to any point in the grounds all for free. Anyway back to this image, as you can see the weather was somewhat inclement to say the least, however it did provide me with the opportunity to get a few 'sodden' photographs such as this. "Hope you like" I was going to crop the image rather tightly and produce a letterbox format, however I decided not to, in turn retaining as much of the detail in the image as possible.
Thank you for all your most generous comments and votes following yesterdays upload 'Rochester Airport Flypast' and a special thank you goes to Lucien (ljh) and John (alsoppdigitalart) for their most welcomed and treasured UA's.
I hope that you all have a great day ahead. I on the other hand have not got a 'Scooby Doo' as to what I will get up to, however. I do know that we will be finally moving into our new home next Monday. So from that day forward I will be without telephone or internet. They reckon it will take approximately a week to get me re-connected and sorted out.
Regards Nathan.

oh dear .... poor you moving .. my sincere thoughts are with you
love this rather wet image
Superb shot Nathan, really sums up this lat summer :-(, hope you didn't get to wet
Best of luck with the move, hope it all goes smoothly
Hugh
Unusual, beautiful, and very well thought out. A hint of movement in the rain drops, sharpness for the swan, and no background distractions.
Moira
Enjoy your 'Scooby Doo' moment Nathan, moving house is very stressful I will keep my fingers crossed for you that all goes well, it took two weeks for them to get my internet up and running. Onward and Upward a new house a new beginning.
John
Good luck on the house move...I remember it taking BT 3 weeks to connect me....my netbook and dongle were a life saver....you still get a payg broadband dongle for around £30-£40..if you haven't already investigated ![]()

you have captured the rain drops and splashes very will with you high shutter speed Nathan with the swand nicely placed in frame. Good luck with the house move and trust all will go well and you enjoy your new home...there were some strange men in white coats seen in the street today but glad to say the door bell did not ring![]()

I'm glad I clicked on 'view large' to fully appreciate this image which works wonderfully. The swan is perfectly positioned in the context of the scene and the rain is captured to great effect. Hope you have dried out by now ![]()

Nice weather for ducks... or swans
Only a passing shower as my Dad would say
Dave
Even the swan looks a bit p****d off with the wet weather! A perfect capture of the falling rain, Nathan...and the swan too, of course! ![]()

Great sense of space here, Nathan. I would however consider cropping out the dark strip of the distant bank at the top. Although reducing the height, I feel it would give even more a feeling of space and emptiness...just a thought.
Good luck with the move...and a dongle is a good suggestion...

The votes have really poured in for this wonderful wet weather image Nathan, I agree with Malc about cropping some off the top to remove the bank, it doesn't really add much to this shot IMHO. I'm sure you'll bump into the Lifesnapper or Sezz on one of your visits to Leeds castle, they are frequent visitors to this place. If you spot a silverhaired fox with a Canon Camera attempting to photograph attractive young ladies that will be our man the infamous and irrepressible Lifesnapper!![]()
exactly right as is Nathan - it tells the story perfectly
It sure did rain! You did good to catch the raindrops so well and capture the mood of a miserable day. Best of wishes for the move to your new house, trust all goes without a hitch. ![]()

Perfect capture Nathan. It certainly "Tells it like it was". Don
Great capture. Well done for staying out in the rain to take the picture. Elaine
Brilliant picture Nathan, something a little unusual for a Swan image, well done.
