Works very well in mono. I agree with Dave, it does remind me of some kind of sea creature.

I thought of a sea anemone until reading your intro.; then I noticed the stalk!

I would have never guessed this to be a plant -- the decision to go for Black and White makes it a totally different subject. Intelligent choice. I feel compelled to look at it as a viewer.
