Perhaps I should call this 'Fjord et lumière'?![]()
Taken down the road at our local fjord (he says in a casual, throw-away manner).
What? You mean you don't have a local fjord??
Anyway, we were parked up, having a cup of coffee from the thermos, when it started to be somewhat less light. Darkness was a-fallin'. Rather strange since it was the middle of the afternoon, but there again, the way this so-called summer has been so far...![]()
Anyway, the light went all peculiar and eerie. That sailboat on the far left horizon was in imminent danger of being dumped on by large amounts of precipitation, and the seagulls had decided to call it a day and use shanks' pony. Two minutes after I took this, the skies opened and the rain gods left us in no doubt as to their mood...
Many thanks for your recent comments. They are always appreciated.
Many thanks for bothering.

A beautifully composed low light shot, Malc, but even better than the composition is the way the light is dancing all over the ripples in the fjord, catching on the top of the posts and brightening the f/g grasses.
Exposed to perfection and capturing a wonderful atmosphere that must have been magical experience first hand.
Ronnie.
Good capture Malc, I have a very similar atmosphere in a picture that I am yet to upload. Didn't have a Flask of Coffee' though ![]()

I'm often struck by the vivid, aggressive light that a menacing storm sky can produce.
We have a local castle but sadly no local fjord. What, you mean you don't have a local castle...? ![]()

LOL!! Touché![]()
The Norse gods were renowned for the strength and simplicity of their taste - no messing with cats, dogs or frogs, just good honest thunder and rain, and plenty of both. I had not realised that the accompanying light was so stunning.
Amazing image.

Moira is forgetting that we used to have a Fjord Fjesta ![]()
Beautiful lighting, Malc, but you won't catch me pining for the fjords! ![]()

Black sky and silvery light on the water, we get this in Scotland quite often but this is a very good example Malc, marvellous.

Fjord? I think we call them floods over here!
A super composition and capture, Malc, with wonderful light falling on the water ![]()
