V2 is a record shot my hubs took whilst out walking and from the nearby village of Waltham St Lawrence, it was flooded from end to end when the ditches overflowed in the recent rain, two days later it was all gone - only one house is off that lane and would not have been affected. Brook Lane as we know it used to flood on a regular basis but the local council dug drains to better cope with this problem, as it affected walkers,cyclists and automobiles accessing another fairly main road out of the village. Children in days gone by used this lane to get to school at the top of the lane - there is a footpath which was raised and behind the hedge on the right that you can see in the picture.
