carrying on with the experimentation "Through the Kitchen Window" this records a Sparrow dispute over priority at the seed-feeder.

Light is still bad (if a little better than yesterday) and I managed 1/320th sec at f5.6 and iso 1600 using my 400L - set to sRAW1.

I think I'm slowly beginning to get to grips with the 50D but can't wait to try it in some decent light

edit: To finish the tale (tail? Smile ) I've just popped up a shot of the "Winner" getting the food

Thanks for taking time to comment. I was surprised how well it came out considering that it was hand-held at relatively low shutter speed (leaning across the sink! Smile )

I guess the fact that the lens hood was tight against the window helped.

Shame I cut the tip of the tail of though.
