Excellent capture Brian,is the alternative name 'Katydid' ?..google shows it covers quite a variety of insects.
I spotted one in the garden only yesterday as I was on watering duty, didn't know what it was other than a Katydid....Janetdidn't have the camera ready though Sad

Yes , the Katydid name seems to cover Crickets & Grasshoppers who make callings that sound like the name. !!!!!
I never heard anything.Wink
Always take a camera when you go out into the garden Janet you never know what is lurking.Grin

Another very fine shot, Brian: can't say I have ever seen such in our garden, but there again, perhaps I haven't been looking closely enough.
Your macro shots are always such pleasure to view and are so inspiring.
I have a Tamron macro lens but after 2 years have never mastered it's use........must try again, inspired by your postings.

A pleasure to view Brian and what a superb BG, this one looks so tiny compared to the one's I saw in Spain, they are probably related in some way I suppose though.

I think they turn up everywhere in one form or another Geoff - over 6,000 species world wide I read somewhere.
