Speke Hall built in the 1530's is situated on the outskirts of Liverpool. A beautiful building which has changed little over the centuries

It's a good view but there are incongruities in the shadow areas - the shadows thrown on the building are less intense than those thrown by the trees, and the near sides of the last two of these are lighter than their shadows. It jars for me.

Wonderful colours and a fabulous sky, is this place haunted or have monk hideaways?

Hi Andrew the story is that it is haunted by priests who used to hide there in a secret room during the 16th century

I thought so, pretty sure I was taken there as a kid. I'll have to ask the olds, or maybe they'll confirm it on here.

I nearly went here yesterday, chose Little Moreton Hall instead, both fantastic buildings. The 16th century architecture is amazing and your image has certainly done it justice Ray.

Thanks Linda, Jude, AC for yoiy comments - the pic was taken when out with my young grand daughter one afternoon tying to teach her how to use the camera I bought for her bithday. I have to confess this was taken hand held whilke showing her how to hold her camera properly. I used apolariser and an Is lens.
Ray

This is a good image ray which you've caught at a time when the clouds are at their best - well done.
