Spider on a Stick

So
I went to my dragonfly pond---all set to capture a few--checked my landing sitck, steadied the tripod, focused--- and waited

and waited

They were flying all around--why not land on their stick like they did any other day???

When I upload this test image--- WELL--easy to tell why!

A fun shot for the weekend

and a huge Thank You to (Graceland) Robin for his Betty Boop Award-- for the "Black-eyed Susan" image!

That happens to me Jenn, I see a spot where butterflies are landing regularly but when I set up they seem to go and meet up with friends and family somewhere else, sods law I suppose.

Still a good shot though. - gary

Just awaiting dinner time! Makes a rather good image even if he/she was spoiling the Dragonfly landing site! Clearly those Dragons are a smart lot!!

I love this Jenn especially the fact that we can't see his body! It's the 'I can't see you so you can't see me' mentality!

A very colourful background helps to let the spindly legs stand out!

Lovely image. I went to a dragonfly pond a month or so and waited and waited and waited and they must have all gone on holiday! Smile

I changed my position to the other side of the pond and waited and still nothing, all of a sudden I had a sinking feeling and quickly realised my boots had sunk down into the mud!

Best described as not one of my better photogtraphic trips! Smile

What an amazing image,
It never ceases to amaze me as to what the camera can seethat we cant with the naked eye.
tho' in preparation for a wedding I took loads of images of the children to get them used to me
Got home and there were at least 8 pictures with a tongue sticking out.. I hadnt even noticed ... oooops
