I've never done this before - so here goes.

When I uploaded the original version of this shot, it rapidly became (and still is) my most popular image on EPZ. See here for original

However, MrS finally succumbed last week and agreed to put some of my images on our wall - and when I looked at this with fresh eyes, I wondered if my processing skills had improved at all.

SO

Here is the re-worked image - better or worse? Honest opinions please - really interested to see how this one compares.

Thanks for your time and your honesty Smile

Cheers!
Fran x

BTW - It's Happisburgh and the sea defences early on morning Grin

Prefer this one I think - a bit brighter and slightly less blue in the sea (let's face it, we are looking at the murky North Sea here...Wink ) Oh, and glad to see you've sorted the dust bunny at the bottom of the frame Smile

Yes this is even better, particularly the light and tones of the exploding wave and with the cyan cast removed from the surf. It's a real stunner.

Yers !!!.....a lot more 'life' in the crashing waves.....though I think I prefer the richer detail in the foam of the bottom LH 1/3rd in the original.....still a rasper though !!!!!!

This new one is much better all round Fran - the tones and colour are better. Funny, I've been doing the same with some of my old ones - processing skills do improve but so does the software.

Definitely prefer this version Fran. The contrast between the wave and the defences works better and overall the image looks brighter and cleaner. The only downside is that some of the lightest foreground surf has blown out (perhaps its my rubbish work monitor)

Think this one is better overall Fran. I would agree, though that this version has lost some of the detail in the bottom R/H side foam area, so may be a combination of the two would be the ideal.

By the looks of the awards, this has gone down very well.
It is certainly much more "alive" than the previous, and the light makes it very, very beautiful.

The water in the foreground works in both versions, but the waves are much brighter and better in this one, so I definitely prefer this one!
