...golf in the foreground, sailing in the background & hillwalking lost in the clag on top of the mountains of the Island of Arran in the river Clyde. The three main tourism sports in Scotland, all of them enjoyed no matter the weather. Don't let's forget photography that covers the other three as well.

Yes don't forget the photographers!
The menacing sky contrasts nicely with the colours in the golf course. The shape of the trees adds to the weather beaten feel.

A good selection of the joys of Scotland Dougie! The sailing boat shows up well against the gloom (am I allowed to call it that?)!! I can't see whether the golfers in the foreground are wearing tee-shirts and shorts, but in my experience, everybody in Scotland wears a tee-shirt while I am wrapped up in several layers, including hats and gloves! Smile

Three human activities, but this puts all of them into perspective. I wonder if the men are aware how tiny they are.

It was the composition that struck me first of all, Dougie with the three horizontal bands each with its own mood, dominated by the looming clouds.

- But then I haven't been a sporting man for a few years now . . .

Bill

Three bands of muted colour and texture Dougie and the inclusion of the golfers just tells a better pcture.

That little boat is so tiny in the picture but it totally holds my attention.

Impressive distant layers of the mountains and the glimt of meteorological hope in the clouds, however I feel the cloud rather than the sun won the day. All in all a very well composed image, Dougie. Nicely banded with the golf course, loch, mountains and sky.

I agree with Moira - that's the message it gives me too. If it provokes such emotions it's got to be a winner!

The golfers in the foreground and the boat on the river provide anchor points for the eye and both subjects give the landscape scale and majesty. Super stuff Dougie.

This one has it all Dougie, and it's so easy on the eye, love the perspective and that little sailing boat just tops it all off Smile
