The striking yellow caught my eye in a landscape that was otherwise completely white.

Hi Colleen and welcome to Epz. and the critique gallery.
If you're looking for honest, worthwhile apppraisal of your work then look no further. You've come to the right place!
I rather like this. It's simple, amusing and easy on the eye.
I could even see this on a wall somewhere in the right cicumstances.
I've uploaded a quick mod in which I've made the white, erm, whiter and pushed the colours in general just a little.
I've also sharpened it slightly as it's a touch soft.
You'll need to re-sharpen everything you upload here as a little sharpness gets lost in the transition.
A great start!

Hope it's OK.

Bren.

You have a fine eye for an image - white, grey and a splash of colour. however, the compact, probably on full auto, has let you down. The exposure system has seen all that snow and under exposed by a good two stops, focus is also just a touch off.

However, as the mods show, you can correct most of that. well seen.
