I reckon the little girl rumbled me! She never reacted as such, but you can see that slightly suspicious look. This is one of those shots that can cause the trouble these days, a picture of a child. But, where is the problem with this. You would have to have a very sick mind indeed to see anything wrong in it and it is modern PC attitudes that is making life very difficult for most people who are decent and honest.

Open to the usual comments. Canon SX40HS on full auto as before. Face detect auto focus and 'P' setting this time, so probably about 1/1200 @ f5.6 A touch of sharpening. The tiny sensor is not as good as my 'C' DSLR's and there is some image noise at all settings. I have found a de-speckle followed by a smart sharpen improves the situation. The de-speckle softens the grain, then the mart sharpen puts the resolution back.

Not a pretty face but someone loves her we hope.
Yes photographing children is a dodgy business sadly. All that great street photography showing children at play from the past will never be captured for this generation.
People are no different could it be the result of all that alarmist tv and tabloid reporting.

Not the place for discussion really, I suppose. But I think the problem in this area, and many others is that punishment should be very much more draconian. Make the punishment so strict that most people dare not commit the crime. We might then get a bit of common sense.

Its a nice shot. Youre definitely rumbled. Im glad she didnt say anything to her Mom about someone taking pics!

Im not allowed take a camera of any kind into the local library, - but I can walk in with my iPhone, - makes a lot of sense doesnt it. The local council are "concerned" about people taking pics of kids, through there has never been a single issue, problem, or complaint about the subject in the 75 years the library has been open.

I like the expression. I agree with you about all the nonsense.. Yes, "You would have to have a very sick mind indeed to see anything wrong ..."
