A Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata) with a butterfly. This is a full frame capture. V2 is a full-frame record shot showing an unfortunate Comma Butterfly being fed to the fledglings. The family of 4 fledglings fledged successfully a couple of weeks ago.
Many thanks for your C&Cs on my BWC Water Vole upload - greatly appreciated as always ![]()

Absolutely superb, Sylvia. A beautiful well detailed capture.

Quote: A cracking detailed shot sylvia
For me personally though I would prefer to see all the perch and the space beneath it for the tail. Just looks a little unbalanced for my eye, though love the bird and butterfly ![]()
Cheers Lee
I totally agree re: balance, Lee but I was so close and it was so fleeting that there wasn't time to swing round to portrait format ![]()
Sylvia
good shot with the butterfly, glad the fledglings all survived
Two wonderful nature shots Sylvia, both a real joy to view. I saw a **** blackbird with a garden tiger moth in its mouth this morning in my back garden, but by the time i'd got my camera set up it had gone
