A Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) taken in the garden yesterday. Perching on a yellow ornamental yew shrub against the pink spring foliage background of a Japanese Acer.

great shot i get plenty of these in the garden i have some old teasle that i top up with nyger seed

A very good shot of the Goldfinch Sylvia. Lovely plumage detail and fine perch. Have to say I am glad you did not remove the green patch. To my mind it makes the BG look far more natural than so many of the 'all in' and bland ones that we see looking almost as if they were taken in a studio.
