....and another one from the Sony. Wink

Having recently read a review where the reviewer was praising the camera's 12-stop dynamic range, I was keen to find out for myself what this thing is capable of.

One other thing that struck me is how little post-processing raw files from this camera actually need. This one just had basic curves and a little vibrance boost.

Wonderful clarity and detail, the image is as near to real life as you can get with all the technology in between. I love this and would happily have it on my wall for a very long tome to come. Great and simple work Julian, very nice indeed.

those S5 pro users on here have been enjoying 12 stops of DR for a while Smile won't beat film though. Looks like you've got a quality lens to go with it.

Thanks, guys!

Nick, the Zeiss is a very nice lens indeed - and the camera (apart from a couple of minor niggles) matches up to the hype.

I'm quite enjoying the freedom of shooting handheld with an SLR again but it's still not as absorbing or challenging as LF. And, although the image quality is as good as it gets (currently) in the DSLR world, it's not really LF standard. On the plus side, the raw files look fantastic, straight off the camera, so there really is very little work to do after shooting (unlike with my LF scans Sad).

Wonderfully vibrant.

Hmmm, yes - I like this - backlit spring leaves are beautiful - and the three-legged branch divides it nicely. Ideally, I'd have liked to see the branch exiting top left in focus throughout, but I didn't notice for ages, so it can't matter that much! (I have to try to find something, Julian, I know - and appreciate - what a perfectionist you are!) Carol

are there any particular niggles? (not wishing to concentrate on the negative) just wondering as it seems an ideal cam for stock images

Verdant and vibrant indeed - a very pleasing image. The bright patch is remarkably well controlled, though a little distracting to my eye. Rgds., Adam
