Will someone out there put me right. Are these catkins or pussy willows or what are they. I am not sure but they just said spring is here to me so I snapped them.
Not sure! but great spring image...well done. If CarolG see's it she will tell you
Not sure what these are but they sure look great against the green bg.
Great composition and colors, nice detail.
Great shot. Sylvia
These are pussy willow, catkins are long & dangly.
Lovely shot, can't wait for the rest of spring to sprung!!
Well, both. Pussy willows is the name specific to the catkins of some willow trees (Salix sp.). Other catkins that are long and thin appear on hazel, birch, poplar, alder and walnut.
Superb detail - beautifully presented
Thankyou for the info Julie and krimage. Spring is my favourite time of year as everything is coming to life again.
Lovely image, great with the mint green background. Yes defo pussy willow. Great detail and texture! Well done, Melissa
Catkins are pendulous whereas pussy willow tends to be as this fine example.
I love springtime too and its great to see all the pics that are being displayed on EPZ, keep up the good work.
Really like the composition of this one, with the sweep from bottom right to top left. Nice and sharp where it needs to be and lovely background colour.
