thanks Frank for the great effort of modifying my photo. It really added sparkle or life to the photo. I really appreciate a lot.. By the way, EXIF that I'm using was based on the "Auto" of the digital camera. Next time I'll try to used it manually. Attached is my modified photo. Thanks again...
You have made squares of conrete look so good, Fred! Very nice composition, love the splashes and the incoming water, the wet pebbles, and the way the blocks are at differing angles. You have just enough interesting elements within the frame, and the holes in the concrete blocks add interest too, being able to see through them. Very nice detail, your own modification is also good. What did you do?
Thank you Pamela for that kind words. I am flattered.
Quote: What did you do?
Just made a little cropping, a few clone stamp for the stones with cracks to make it whole and that's it... A beautiful stone concrete photo...
Thanks again Pamela!
An interesting take on a few lumps of concrete, so well done!
I have to agree with Pamela's comments above regarding thje composition and the clever use of the various elements.
But if I was to be really picky (and I am!), I'd have to say that it's a little flat.
I've uploaded a mod. in which I've added an "S" curve, tweaked it using the "shadows/highlights" tool and brightened it slightly. All only small changes but collectively they lift it a little.
Hope it's OK.
Thanks Bren for the modification. Definitely lifted the photo to a new perspective. Great job. Till the next photo...
I just had a bit of a play around with this image. I've uploaded a modification. See what you think!
I prefer to make the block on the left-hand side the main focal point of the scene. IMHO, to do this the sea in the top right-hand corner has to be cropped out. When I cropped out the sea, it left a rather distracting dark patch (inbetween the back row and blocks and the row in front). If felt this needed to be cropped out as well, if there was to be no distraction away from the front block. After I'd completed cropping, I increased the contrast by 7 and the brightness by 5.
Let me know what you think! :0
Wow Phil. Thanks for the effort too. It makes a new look to my photo as well. I agree with you to cropped the distracting dark patch to focus on the big square concrete. Great job!
Mod 3 has the most impact, but then the colours look wrong. The base problem is, indeed, lack of punch. Brighten and boost the contrast. There is a white line round the concrete at the top? Looks almost like HDR.
Thanks Paul for that constructive comment. By the way, what is HDR?
