Dawn at St Marks Square and all is quiet... for once. Half an hour later and the place was teeming with tourists.

Getting up early was the only time that I could capture a sense of space in this little citySmile

See what you thinkSmile

It looks quite strange with no one about, but works well for it

I like the splash of colour in the lights - just adds nicely to the comp.

Looks like you've done exactly as I did when I was there...up at 6am and stood in St Marks Square truned 360 degrees and never saw another living soul or pigeon. Quite a bizarre feeling really. Thanks again for bringing back very fond memories of what has turned out to be our favourite city. Quality work and thanks

Mike - glad it has brought back some fond memories, I must admit I don't miss the freezing sub zero temps when we were thereSmile

Fran - you think 5 per chair was bad, the gondolas were charging 150 for 40 minsSmile) Needless to say we passed on that oneSmile

I visited there nearly 25 years ago, just for a day and armed with a basic Canon sureshot compact. I want to go back now, just to try to get something as good as this! Smile

nicely put together shot, but in processing there seems to be some halos - big ones - around the building on the left. teh arches seem brighter than the sky in a way too
