This is Hartshead Church taken last night . It is the church where Patrick Bronte was vicar before moving his family to Thornton near Bradford and then onto Haworth where the 3 sisters became famous. He lived as a lodger at a farm very near to here It was during his time here that he met his wife And Charlotte and Emily were born here. Thanks for recent clicks and comments .All very much appreciated.....Phil

A fine shot of this Church, Phil: the name seems to ring a bell with me.......I am wondering if this is the Church in which Rev. Patrick Bronte was curate before moving to Haworth.

A concise and interesting description, Phil. You've brought out some lovely detail in the church, difficult especially against the light, and the sky sets it off a treat.

I was here recently myself Phil. It's a great place isn't it. There are also legends about Luddites killed at Rawfolds being secretly buried here and that Robin Hood cut his last arrow from the old yew tree in the churchyard. Robin Hood's Grave is near to here at Kirklees Priory.
