This scene shows a couple of sea stacks at Duncansby Head ( not far from John o' Groats ) along the top of the headland and to the left you can see the shape of Orkney in the distance, as it is I was pleased with the comp' as it depicts the tip of the very North East of Scotland.

Fabulous colours Kin - and I really like the way you've lined up the horizon with the top of the cliffs (one to add to my memory bank!) Smile

Cheers!

This is actually very reminiscent of parts of the Algarvian coastline Kin, with those rock stacks and dramatic cliffs. Love the colour of the ocean and the textures in it.

I'm off to Skye in the morning Kin, but I wish I had been with you for this shot. Never been at Duncansby, it's on the list.

All the very best my friend,
Dougie

Its a must Dougie this one was taken around midday early August so this is looking north which is fine but south was a nighmare for exposure due to the backlighting. have a fine time on Skye and take care.
My Best Regards to you Dougie
Kin.

Great clarity in this shot Kin. It looks 3D on my screen. I know this is a long way north of me, but I'm suprised to learn how low the sun is at mid day in August.

hi Nigel, if you look on pages 16 and 17 of my portfolio you will see shots from this area to the south and you will see what I mean Smile they are more dilute as the strong light robs the shot of the colour ( backlit )

beautiful clear colours and light. can I kae one little niggle - Idon't like the top of the land being level with the horizon - a bit more above or below would be better (IMHO) - but hey, that;'s me, lovely place, lovely shot

You have certainly made the most of that lovely Scottish light. I like the clouds, they seem to ecoe the coastline, full of interesting shapes.

Thanks for the feedback Kin. I looked at pages 16 and 17 (took ages for the site to take me there). If "Duncansby head" was one of the shots, I can see what you mean.
