A cracking shot of this magnificent beast Richard, he certainly is a fine looking specimen.
Captures the moment. Nice depth of field pulling the stag from the background.
A stunning image of the stag Richard but there appears to be something amiss with the ferns at the bottom of the image - ? Dodgy selection or suchlike? The detail on the stag & his antlers is first rate! Lou

great shot from the rut
If you look at the ferns at the bottom Lou they are directly in front of me and so at the distance shot of approximately 40 feet to get a stag full frame with an 800mm Prime at that aperture they are thrown out of focus by the dof the same way as the background
