From a visit a while ago to Wardour Castle, Wiltshire. Might lend itself to a mono conversion.

The texture on the wall I think adds to the feel of decay. Could you have gone a bit wider to get all of the small door in? or would that ruin the photo?

It catches my eye.

Just my sort of shot. Lots of detail in that decay.
Dave.

"Could you have gone a bit wider to get all of the small door in?"
I was in two minds, John. My thinking was that it adds to the sense of mystery by leaving only part of the door in the frame.

Great mood to this shot, like the light and texture on the stonework and the sweep of the stairway through the arch.

For this size ratio, leaving the left side door half-in is fine. I want to see the door on the right as big as possible, and getting a wider view would make the right door smaller. Excellent decay and a beautiful place.

I'd agree on mono, and I often suggest it, but here I really think the muted colours do add more to the image.

A stunner. Brilliant, I love it. Great colours and textures with a macabre feel. Well done. CLIK,
