Back to shadows again today, I couldn't find any wildlife in the meadows yesterday, but I did spot some wild flowers, and the sun was creating some rather pleasing shadows of stamens on petals.
V’s 1&2 - Anemone hortensis ssp. heldreichii - This attractive anemone is endemic to Crete and Karpathos and can be found growing throughout the island. Its colours range from purple through to white and a pink variety can be found in the east, although it is not so common. It grows at the roadsides, in meadows and olive groves, and is found flowering during February and March.
V.3 - Veronica persica, more commonly known as speedwell, is a winter annual with small, light blue and white flowers and oval or round hairy leaves with round teeth. The flowers occur singly on long flower stalks. Flower stalks arise from the area between the leaf bases and stems (leaf axils). Flowers range from 7 -12 mm in width and are usually light blue in colour with darker blue lines and a pale blue to white centre.
Back to another dull and very, very windy morning today ![]()

Three lovely flower portraits. I particularly like Tge presentation in V2.
Three lovely images Carol. v1 and v3 looked better when viewed large but v2 was tooo big for the screen. When viewed 'normal' v2 was my favourite. Now there's strange![]()

Three gorgeous shots, great light and shadows.

V1 for me Carol - love the way the blue is reflecting on the white petals
+1C early doors at the woods and it has risen a degree or two during the day.
I hate slow thaws. The air is so damp. To be honest, I felt colder in the damp air this morning, than I did yesterday.
It might have been -12C, but at least the air was crisp and clean.
Adrian
Three absolutely beautiful images of a very beautiful flower.
