What is this life if full of care
We have no time to stand and stare?....
William Henry Davies

Found this little church whilst wandering around London the other day. Been done many times but this is the Jubilee/Olympic makeover colour on the Millennium Bridge, and I liked the light on the 'watchers'.

Iso400, f13, 8secs, 20mm, tripod and remote.

Many thanks for your response to my rusty shot, and to Mick and Jocelia for their UAs. Also, apologies for absence for the next few days, my brother and family (3 boys, 15,13,9) are staying with us, I have a feeling we'll be quite busy Tongue

The title is a subtle lead-in to the candid capture - the wee dome in the distance is the first subject noticed. Super composition and exposure.

Watching the watchers, a great past-time, Dave. Considerate of them to stand there perfectly placed from your point of view. Adds to what would still be a marvellous night shot even if they weren't included. Nice little village church dome lit up in the distance as well.

Trademark attention to detail. Composition and sharpness faultless as always. I am surprised you secured the trademark star shaped reflection from the illuminations on f/13 rather than the f/22 it would normally take. Also going for ISO 400 as opposed to 100 achievable on a tri-pod. Plus you did manage to get two people to stand still for 8 secs which in itself is a triumph.

Wonderful night shot, Dave, you always come up with the goods, but this is a bit special with the watchers included.

Of course, I find far more time for "Leisure" in my retirement, and it's great.

"No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began".
