A Star Magnolia (Magnolia stellata) taken in the garden the other day. The background colour is provided by a large, potted heather plant and the photo is composed in-camera and is full frame with no cropping.
Many thanks for your C&Cs on yesterday's Hellebores orientalis Smile

Very well composed and exposed image, Sylvia, with the whites of the blooms so well recorded: the heather provides an excellent b/g tone to set the blooms against.

Like the composure of this Sylvia and very well presented utilising the colours for bg and border. Works well, also given me an idea, never thought of that lens for flowers.

An outstanding image Sylvia, set off beautifully by those background hues - one of my favourite Magnolias.

I have one of these in my garden but the b/g is not as sympathetic as yours which is a superb shot btw - parts of our garden is left wildish for the night-time visitors and the birds of course
