A Star Magnolia (Magnolia stellata) taken in the garden the other day. The background colour is provided by a large, potted heather plant and the photo is composed in-camera and is full frame with no cropping.
Many thanks for your C&Cs on yesterday's Hellebores orientalis ![]()

One look at the thumbnail and I knew this was yours. Superb as usual.
Great shot Sylvia, detail is superb and just where it's needed,
Geoff.
I have one of these in my garden but the b/g is not as sympathetic as yours which is a superb shot btw - parts of our garden is left wildish for the night-time visitors and the birds of course
Wow! Not only a beautiful magnolia, but also such a great image! Superbly composed,
Johanna
A beautiful image of spring, the purple background works a treat
