Excellent - idea, composition, crop - the crop is really what gives its strength. I like the way you've exploited the sculpture's knowing little smile, he's commenting on the child, the child is blissfully unaware.

This is excellent. Your eye for a good picture is improving almost by the minute, while your preference for black & white makes for striking contrasts and compositions.
While I'm certain that you have cropped so close to the statue's head for a good reason, ideally I would have liked to see a little more space above; on the other hand I feel that a crop off the right would emphasise the physical gulf between statue and child. However, these are matters of personal preference, not adverse criticism. Other matters that impress me enormously are your choice of focal length for your work and the quality of your mono conversions.

Graphic capture emphasised in B & W ~ Excellent crop and full focus front to back really leads the eye of the viewer to and fro on main subjects, even though the strong graphic lines are present Left to Right of the steps.
Brilliant work and at this stage of your obvious assured future as a competant Lensman!
