I'm not into planes, so the subject matter is (for me) less interesting. However, your processing and mono conversion are very eye catching. Yes, there's a slight halo around the nose end of the plane, which could be over sharpening or because you've darkened the sky down a bit, but in this case it doesn't detract form the overall image.
