This is a fuller view of the steam engine from the other day's upload, Cogs, not the whole car by along way, it is actually quite a small engine, but just as complicated in it's own way as any there Smile Anyway hope I'm not boring you with all these images from Beaulieu.

Thank you all so much for all your C&C's very much appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to look

Hugh

Fascinating detail in this lovely study, Hugh, the sort of device I can gaze at for hours, beautifully recorded.
I remember reading an account by an Edwardian gentleman who owned a Napier petrol car and a steam car of similar dimensions (perhaps it was a Serpollet. . .).
As a steam engineer he could have been expected to favour the steamer; however, for every hour spent maintaining the Napier he spent seven hours fettling the steamer. No wonder steam cars died out......
Regards
Bill

This looks so well looked after compared to the garage scenes: beautifully maintained and restored, a fine shot you have got here too, Hugh.

gorgeous light and reflections.
what a strange transmission... a crownwheel and pinion driving a belt drive, with that turn in the belt you wonder why they didn't do a gear cascade straight from the output.
Very mysterious setup.
