Sporting the 'Merseyside Express' headboard, ex LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No. 5690 'Leander' storms up the West Coast Main Line north of Wigan with the start of a 4 day railtour to Scotland, on Friday morning.
This locomotive was built at Crewe works in 1936 and has been a stalwart of the revival of mainline steam since the 1970s.
