Like your presentation, but not sure were the focus point on the rose is even looking large. You may have a bit of camera shake or used the wrong aperture but there again it may be just my eyes lol

Beautiful shot

Lovely presentation. This kind of shot is so much better with a macro lens, and as you like flowers so much (and shoot them so well), this should be on your list of accessories to buy ASAP!

Soft focus is fine but I find reds a pest to get right and so de saturate to something less intense. Head on is always worth trying but better when tonal range is broader

I like the soft focus effect As Roger says reds can be difficult,a nice capture,You will get to love theK10D its a super camera but as you say a lot to get to grips with,
