Here's a second image taken yesterday morning from the entrance to St Mary's church Nunthorpe looking towards both threatening sky and fiery sunlight.

I wonder how you think this compares with yesterday's - please let me know if you have the time.

Thank you, Mike

I've been flicking between the two but can't really choose. Both have their own charm. That is one dramatic sky!

Long and low under a heavy sky, then the burst of light in the distance. Clever use of pano, Mike.

Not at all an easy choice to make, Mike! On balance I think I prefer this image, having suggested that the foreground in yesterday's was excessive: the topographical interest lies in the distance, which you have emphasised with the severe crop.
It strikes me as most unusual not to have Roseberry Topping away from the limelight - and quite refreshing!

This is lovely, Mike. I would imagine it would look great printed and framed.

This is quite a view-- I like how the sky seems to echo the shapes of the hills!

The letterbox format really suits this dramatic landscape.

The last post seemed more dramatic and had the silohuette of captain cook's monument in front of that fantastic sky. Although i still like this shot and is deserving of my click
