V1 - split tone effect
V2 - mono and a crop
the sky was very bright (and white) and this was shot from the hip whilst walking along...despite all that I quite like the end result.
I'm sure it would take a further crop and a straighten but will leave that to you if you want to play around with the shot

I like the effect in V1, it conveys cold, wan winter sun. (Which is much better than no sun at all... )
v1 brings out the details in the distance much better and gets my vote
Happy New Year Jeff
Love the effect and the shot a lot, Jeff. For reasons of compo sometimes one doesn't want to straighten it, this might be the case with you, perhaps?
The monochrome is stunning, a well observed and captured candid.
I love the colour version. The quality is subdued and interesting. Not sure if I like the half-person on the right, but the rest is brill.

I looked at that, but felt a crop took something away from the picture as a whole...
I like both versions, but more the V1 because of its winter colours. I agree with Slowsong, but if you looked at that and doesn't work, it is ok
Excellent candid shot John and the split tone version suits it admirably.
Lots to look at love it.
These are excellent photos Jeff !! I do like V1 a lot
Like V1 best, good shot.
Looks fine to me Jeff, and I like both, great place to visit love it, regards Leon.
