Also known as the Cape Primrose, this specimen was shot indoors yesterday again using available daylight at the window, reflected light from white card and with black card for b/g. I thought of cloning out the pot but decided against it.
I'm not certain what you will make of it! Sometimes I look at it and like it, then at others I'm not so sure. So any comments either way will be completely acceptable.
(PS. This plant can be easily propagated by taking a single leaf, popping it in water for two or three weeks by which time it will have developed roots, then potting up. This specimen was propagated in this way only last September)
Details: ISO 200, 1/6 sec. at f/ 25.0 with Exp. Bias of -1.67. Colour balance was set at 7690K to get most accurate colours, but even at that increasing the blue very slightly on the flowers selectively was required.
Many thanks to all who took interest in "Superstar", and a special thanks to both "andylea" and "digital_boi" for their UAs.
Ronnie.

Great shot Ronnie, used to grow these years ago.

Just love the colour - my top favourite in Streptocarpus in fact! Have 7 of these, all from 1 leaf, as it's possible to cut across and make quite a number of new plants by potting up all the small sections! What cheap-skates we are!!! Anyway, love the image. Have tried several times to capture this lovely plant and never been happy with my results, so quite envious!

What a stunning colour. A top quality image, Ronnie, very beautifully lit. Agree that it works with the plant pot left in. Top quality as always.

Superb and natural colour and great contrast with the black background Ronnie! It was a good idea to use a small apperture getting depth over the whole flower.

Beautiful detail/color and dof here Ronnie,
Geoff.
Stunning Ronnie, the detail and colours are just wonderful...
in this instance the pot doesnt matter a jot as its such a beautiful shot anyways with good colour and detail
Morning Ronnie,
When I saw the title I thought it was some kind of disease....lol, and find it is a fascinating plant instead, you have photographed it beautifully as usual, and IMHO there is no need for any misgivings, I agree with those speaking positively about the inclusion of the flowerpots rim!
Rgds., Jim
Looks perfect to me Ronnie, the colour is beautiful and the reality makes me feel I can smell these Primrose from here.

A beautifully arranged and presented image Ronnie. I'd never heard of streptocarupus before today, it sounds more like a muscle that a sportsman might damage than a flower!
