I would be interested in members views as I grabbed this image and tried to blur the background using PS but found it almost impossible to get a true effect and not being a fan of black and white generally I found this worked for me, I will add the variant then you can judge for yourselves if you please, thanks for all c/c's on yesterdays upload and to LonelyOryx for his mod very much appreciated. A very wet start to our day here but not to be daunted will be out and about, hope you have a good one. F11 s/s1/200 iso 400

V3 for me, looks like an angel with his wings like that.
Like v1 and 3 best , though v2 looks quite surreal, he looks as if he's flying more like an angel.

Well timed capture Ann - sorry there is a but - in V2 I would suggest that you dont blurr the foreground cause it makes it look as though the swan is suspended in midair, the blurr works really well but how about uploading a version where foreground is not blurred or less blurred. Regards Ina

I am not worried but one does have to try these things and I need the PS experience
Hi Ann!
I have posted up mod for you with what I think you were after!? The explanation is on the Mod write up.
Lovely shot by the way that, for me, works better in colour though the Mono is very nice too.

It seems a very co-operative swan, Ann..is it the same one as previously? Like V1 best, think V2 makes it look like it's suspended in mid air!

Well it's worth having a go to hone your PS skills Ann, but do bear in mind that even if you use a small DOF to blur the BG this would still leave the swan an in focus platform to stand on. Version 2 doesen't work but I'm sure you know that already. A splendid attempt.
Geoff.
v2 is definitely an interesting shot! I like v3 myself.
