With tomorrow being the shortest day of the year, I've taken a look back to the Summer of 2010 with a reminder of a day spent walking beside the River Nene that runs through the picturesque Nene Valley, near Peterborough. A pair of juvenile Swallows had found an ideal perch on which to wait while the parent birds returned with food; I managed to get quite close to get the photographs without disturbing the family.
V1 & V2: the two siblings.
V3: a parent returns with food for one youngster while the other demands to be fed, too.
Thank you for your pleasing response to my previous feature, "August Memory."
Best wishes to you & yours for Christmas & the New Year.
